Archived post.I kept a record of my pain experience. For the rook I had I ranked it a piercing pain of 8.5/10, and a healing pain of 9/10. However, I had to remove it because it eventually got infected. it was a real pity because it was going to be one of my favorites. this was what it looked like the day after i got it done to give you an idea of my ear ...Ears are like eyebrows (if you've ever had them shaped whether professionally or on your own) - sisters, not twins. Most people don't notice uneven ears, but if it really bothers you, do something asymmetrical with your piercings. Stacked lobes always look good, and you could do something different on each ear.Had to have it done 3 times, so the third time hurt the most due to scar tissue. Industrial (had 1) Pain 8.5/10. Healing time: had for 2 years - never fully healed. Left thick scar tissue behind. Conch (have 1 high and 1 low) Pain 7/10. Healing time: 6 months+.The piercing is pretty temporary and it probably wont stay in forever in most cases and its pretty simple to take it out too. If you notice any pain ir discomfort go straight to the doctors because mouth infections are pretty nasty. But if you take good care of your piercing and mouth your smiley should be completely safePiercings that aren't quite healed can flare up after sickness or a new piercing/wound. Basically piercings are injuries (because they're holes in the skin) so the immune system and body is focusing on trying to heal the 'injuries'. The more there are, the less "resources" they can provide each one so it can cause them to heal slower or flare ...same boat. depending on how close your third lobes are to the cartilage-y part of your ear, they'll heal more like cartilage piercings. if you feel as though the angle is off, see a shop other than the place that pierced you for a second opinion. I'm no expert, but my second lobe piercings never healed.Pain Level: 5/10. Healing time: 3-9 months. Another cartilage piercing, a forward helix is also placed on the upper ear above the tragus. These piercings are a bit more tricky than your typical helix piercing as the piercing must be lined up perfectly with your ear and will likely hurt more than a standard lobe piercing. How are you cleaning and what material is the jewelry? not a piercer but mine looked just like this!! try ur best not to sleep on it, use saline rinse (i put mine in the fridge!!), and someone suggested blowdrying the ear so it doesnt stay wet after a shower :) should go away on its own. I still clean my piercings twice a day as instructed, but I still notice very slight discharge when cleaning one ear with no pain associated. On the other ear it feels a tiny bit sore when I move it around to clean it..
